Accommodation
Kitchen
The main entrance with the trullo's original door is off the patio and leads into the living area; the kitchen is in the left hand alcove and is extremely well stocked with cooking utensils for the budding chef in you, including dishwasher, microwave, oven, gas hob, fridge and electric kettle. The right alcove (where the grandparents traditionally slept) has a single day-bed. A stove in the kitchen adds a romantic touch when the days are cooler.
Dining
The dining table extends to seat eight and the dresser is well stocked with crockery and glass wear to feed everybody, in true Italian hospitality. There are two high chairs and two baby cots available, depending on the age of the child. As the family who owns these Trulli has children with ages ranging from a few months to 21 years old, they are child friendly with various combinations of toys CD players etc. Ask for availability when booking.
Bedroom
The main bedroom has a big metal bed covered with a patchwork quilt and scattered cushions perfect for a siesta after lunch when the sun is high. It is simply furnished with wardrobe, bed side tables and lamps, a chest of drawers, and a small desk for writing postcards.
The 'back bedroom' opens off the living area and is fitted with twin beds which push together to convert to a double. As the stone walls are over 2 meters thick this room is cool in summer and cozy in winter, the wardrobe and shelves are in the original niches in these thick walls where the oil and wine were kept cool. The paint finish in this room is as it always was, the layers of whitewash can be counted like tree rings to tell its age.
Bathroom
The round wheelchair friendly bathroom is modern and warm, decorated simply with Travertine mosaic tiles and marble counter tops; it has WC, bidet, low hand basin and shower. The floor is wet room style and special attention has been paid to accessibility as the owners mother is in a wheelchair. There is a plastic shower chair available for the less able.
Private Swimming Pool
15 x 5 metres turquoise pool lined with Venetian glass tiles surrounded by sun loungers, umbrellas, wooden decking and Travertine stone patios.
Laundry
As holidays in Italy involve much sampling of the local produce there is an extra fridge freezer in the laundry room around the corner, where the abundant fruit and vegetables from the market, the wine, Prosecco and beer produced locally are kept cool. The stone barbecue is in this area under a plum tree, we even remembered a light to see the food cooking. There is an outside shower in this area near the pool.
Garden
Through the seasons the countryside changes, often dramatically. In spring the land is green and full of wild flowers. Summer sees the pomegranates, plums, nespole and figs ripen. Later in summer the grass dries and is ploughed under to prevent fires (no chemical deterrents at Mimosa). Autumn brings green sprouts, wild flowers and fungi (don't eat unless you know what it is,). In late autumn the olives and almonds are harvested and the countryside is covered with nets to catch the stray olives. Local families work together to gather in the harvest.
Cleaning and Linen
- All towels (bath and pool) and linen are provided.
- The property is cleaned prior to arrival and after departure.
- Additional maid service can be arranged on request, at an agreed price to be paid locally.
- There is a washing line behind the outdoor kitchen.

- Italian chef can be arranged for cooking classes and private dining
- Caretaker can arrange Bike Rentals, babysitting, extra cleaning, help with stoking up the pizza oven - please ask for details and costs
- Welcome pack on arrival containing essentials for first evening/breakfast - please advise if you would like costs for additional babypack
All trulli are fully equipped, provide hair dryers, irons, ironing boards etc.
